Firsts finish 6th in debut season

As the 2022/23 season finishes Reigate Priory First team have managed to secure 6th place in the league after only being promoted last season. There have been some impressive performances along the way, especially defensively, with goals spread throughout the side.

“[We can] proudly claim the title of second best defensive record in the league”

Dale Wyatt – First Team Manager

The First Team manager, Dale Wyatt, said: “It’s been a solid debut season for us in the Mid Sussex Premier Division this season, having finished 6th and being able to proudly claim the title of second best defensive record in the league, behind the ridiculously strong league winners Hollington. Arguably our best performance of the season came in the first half of our away fixture v Ringmer, when we flew into a 4 goal lead having absolutely played them off the park. Grinding out a result on the last game of the season v 3rd place Balcombe was also pleasing, as we had to show a gritty side to our game. We know that if we’re to keep progressing and continue to build next season, we’re going to have to be more clinical in the final third whilst maintaining our solid defensive resilience.”
