Recap

Reigate Priory first team travelled to Hassocks to face Lindfield for the third time this season. The physical contest started with an onslaught of long balls and throw-ins by Lindfield, with one bouncing in Priory’s six yard box for the Lindfield winger to tap in.

Priory played the better football and grew in confidence after conceding the first goal. Priory got one back through a good move down the right which resulted in a cut back for Javi Serrano to slot home to make it 1-1 at the break.

Priory conceded two goals from corners in the middle of the second half, before pulling one back with James Miller nodding home after a flick on from Callum Johnson’s long throw. Dave McLaughlin was unlucky not to score with a last minute header from a Johnson corner, but the 3-2 loss sees Priory out of this season’s cup competitions.

Somewhat coincidentally Priory have lost 3-2 to Lindfield on all three occasions this season.
